Background |
Community Business has
long championed the issue of work-life balance as an integral and
important part of Corporate Social Responsibility. The 2010 State of
Work-Life Balance in Hong Kong Survey highlighted that while there
have been vast improvements in employee¡¦s attitudes and experience
of work-life balance, it is clear that there are barriers that still
exist which make work-life balance a non-reality for many
organisations.
To gain an understanding
of why this may be, we engaged with business leaders from the
Community Business Leadership Team (CBLT) and practitioners who are
responsible for the day-to-day implementation of work-life balance
within these organisations. From these in-depth discussions, we have
identified a number of common barriers that exist within
organisations which prevent work-life balance from becoming a
reality.
This guide addresses the
key barriers as well as proposes practical solutions or approaches
to tackle them as advised by leading work-life balance experts from
around the world.
