Future of Work - Creating a Diverse & Inclusive Gig Workforce

The rapid evolution in the gig economy suggests that this is the greatest prospect of work for the future. Professionals are increasingly moving to flexible ways of working across career stages. This could be a huge opportunity for organisations to focus on improving representation of diverse talent in the workforce by trying flexible working models. In this session we understand gig working model, get insights on real life examples and experiences of gig workers that could help explore ways to accelerate diversity agenda in the organisations.

DIAN India Open House: D&I trends for 2021

2020 has been a year of transformation that has impacted future of work immensely. As we look ahead to explore key trends, topics that will influence D&I strategy for 2021 and beyond in our DIAN India Open House, we invite D&I, HR and Business leaders responsible for design and implementation of D&I strategy to reflect and ideate. We will use brainstorming and brainwriting techniques to assess impact of these trends on D&I strategy of organisations and come up with some new ideas and directions to inform D&I strategy for 2021.

Anand Vishwanath

Anand Vishwanath had been associated with dogs for over 30 years in various spaces – Training, Behaviour modification, breeding, participating in various dog competitions, counselling pet parents and providing a host of pet services under his company Anvis Inc.

Subsequently, he got certified as a Canine behaviourist under the very experienced John Rogerson of Northern Centre for Canine Behaviour, UK.Anand has been featured in many Indian and International media articles and publications including an interview with BBC on Indian Pet Industry and International Pet Relocation Services in specific.

Anand's company Anvis inc is a pioneer in providing Pet Services like Dog Walking, Pet Sitting, Pet Boarding, Puppy Training, Pet Relocation and others. In the interest of sharing the knowledge, Anand has recently launched a Pet Academy called A.L.P.H.A (Anvis Learning & Pet Handling Academy). Online courses are offered to pet parents and pet lovers who want to learn to better their bond with their pets and/or make a career in the pet industry.

Gopal Ananthanarayanan Iyer

Prarthana Kaul

Mrs. Prarthana Prateek Kaul is Co-Founder of GiftAbled, an award winning social enterprise that strives to create an ecosystem of like-minded individuals to collectively build an inclusive society. Supported Livelihood of 1000s of People with Disability and the underprivileged across India through Supply Chain Diversity. Prior to GiftAbled, Prarthana worked with IBM and iVolunteer. She is a cause marketer, motivational trainer and has been a consultant in the space of disability inclusion to many multinational organisations. Prarthana, has conducted numerous sensitisation workshops on evolving as Disability Confident company, Sign language, Braille, Volunteer Management and Employee engagement across India. She has engaged with 10,000 plus volunteers and 100s of Non-Profits across the country on various causes. Additionally, she has been invited by reputed institutes like IIT Chennai, TISS Mumbai and Hyderabad, NMIMS, IIM Bangalore, Christ University etc, to speak on Inclusion of People with Disabilities and Volunteering. Her efforts and contribution towards the empowerment of People with Disabilities, has won her various awards and accolades, including: Social Entrepreneur of the Year by Namma Bengaluru Foundation (2015), Community Service Award by Rotary Bangalore Centennial (2017), Best Social Entrepreneur Award by Hand in Hand (2018), Top 3 social enterprise in the country by IIM Calcutta Innovation Park as part of Tata Social Enterprise Challenge. She has also served as a Board Member of non-profit entities like Om Ashram and was a life skill trainer for students of Cheshire Home.

Punyabrata Sen

Punyabrata is practiced professional with comprehensive experience in Strategy Development, Cost Modelling & Pricing, Change Management & Business Transformation and Business Modelling & Organisation Design leading to enhancing overall Organisational Efficiency through Strategic Business /Performance Management.

Punyabrata has been a Member of the Business Consulting practice of Ernst & Young (EY) Middle East & North Africa. He was subsequently appointed by the Government of The Sultanate of Oman in a personal capacity in various roles & responsibilities. He also has the distinction of serving as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Electricity Transmission Company S.A.O.C.

Since his return to India in October 2018, Punyabrata has Mentored and Advised a Start-up in the Electronics space and is currently Chief Mentor with 4 start ups in disparate domains.

Punyabrata is currently associated with Ernst & Young (EY) as a GIG Consultant and with T-Hub Hyderabad as Chief Mentor as well as a Mentor of Change with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog.

Dr. Vandana Nadig Nair

CEO and Co-Founder | ElderAid Wellness Pvt. Ltd.

Armed with a Ph.D. in Industrial / Organisational Psychology from Central Michigan University, USA and some teaching and consulting experience, Vandana returned to India and worked in the corporate sector – first with Hindustan Unilever Limited in various roles in HR and then headed HR for a young IT company. Entrepreneurship called and hence she set up CoCoon (www.cocoonconsulting.com) in 2000 to support small, medium and large organisations in their growth and transformation from a strategic talent management and development perspective. Early consulting work with various social sector organisations led to the birth of Phicus in 2012 (www.phicus.org), an organisation which focuses on building capacity in social sector organisations and leaders. Phicus works closely with the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) to build the capabilities of impact changemakers across India.

ElderAid Wellness happened in response to a growing need within her own extended family that she saw – Elder aunts and uncles in Bangalore with children in other cities / countries who needed help / support; Children who travelled as frequently as once a month to tend to their parents; and worry on all sides. ElderAd is a social enterprise that provides at home health, wellness and concierge services to elders across Bangalore, Kochi and Palakkad. ElderAid Care Managers act as ’the proxy child’ to their elders, delivering / facilitating elder support.
