Event Speakers

Adrienne Davis

Head of Consulting & Training, Community Business

Adrienne is the Head of Consulting & Training, Community Business, based in Hong Kong. She drives the development, strategy, and execution of Community Business’ LGBT+ campaigns. Adrienne was a member of LGBT+ oriented clubs and volunteered for a disabled sporting NGO before relocating to Hong Kong in 2016.

Prior to joining Community Business, she worked at an NGO in Hong Kong, which provides legal assistance to domestic workers in need. Her university experience and work in Hong Kong strengthened her drive to work for social justice and inclusion. Adrienne uses They/Them and She/Her pronouns.

Amin Kassam

Head of Legal, Asia-Pacific at Bloomberg LP

Amin Kassam is the current Head of Bloomberg's Legal Department in APAC, Chair of the Hong Kong Office Committee, and an active member of Bloomberg's APAC Diversity & Inclusion Council.

Amin also serves as the Executive Sponsor for Bloomberg’s LGBT & Ally (BProud) Community in APAC and has played an integral role in Bloomberg's support for marriage equality and LGBT+ rights around the world.

He was recognised in 2018 and 2020 in OUTstanding's list of the top 100 LGBT+ Executive Role Models worldwide.

Eugene Chen

Foreign Registered Lawyer

Eugene Chen is an American litigator, who has been based in the Asia Pacific region for over 14 years.  He has lived and worked in both the PRC and Hong Kong, where he advises clients on how they can proactively overcome the commercial and regulatory challenges they face when doing business in Asia. 

Eugene has been an active contributor to D&I and LGBT+ initiatives for many years.  He served on his prior firm’s Global D&I Committee, and local Pro Bono and Citizenship Committees.  He has collaborated with Community Business on LGBT+ research in the PRC, and spoken at events hosted by PFLAG and Out Leadership

Janet Ledger

Chief Operating Officer at Community Business

The Chief Operating Officer as a member of the Executive Leadership team, contributes to the overall strategic direction and sustainability of Community Business as a not-for-profit organisation. Responsibilities include executive leadership of all operational functions including Marketing and Communications, Change Management and HR, Employee Engagement & Culture, Finance, Legal and Compliance, Technology and Infrastructure. In addition she has leadership oversight of our number of our key programs including Gender, LGBT+ and Employee Wellbeing.

Prior to joining Community Business Janet has built a successful career as a senior leader most recently with Telstra International in Hong Kong, covering a broad range of disciplines and functions including strategic business planning and performance, programme management and delivery, corporate governance, change management, organisational effectiveness and talent development. She also has experience in the Travel, Tourism, Training and Hospitality sectors. Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Janet and her husband now call Hong Kong home.

Janet believes organisation is only as strong as its people. She has helped teams get where they want to be by working with people, opening channels of communication, developing and retaining the right talent and ensuring an inclusive environment where creativity and collaboration can thrive.

With over 35 years work experience Janet is continuing her learning by undergoing study towards a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences through Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is an alumni of The Women's Foundation Mentoring Program.

Manoj Chandran

CEO, White Swan Foundation

Manoj Chandran is the founding CEO of White Swan Foundation for Mental Health, a non-profit organisation incorporated with the mission to deliver knowledge services for mental health and wellbeing.
Founded in 2014, White Swan Foundation has developed India’s largest knowledge repository on mental health for the public at http://www.whiteswanfoundation.org. White Swan Foundation runs several community outreach and mass communication programs to educate people on mental health and wellbeing.
Manoj has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of areas that include journalism, communications, marketing, strategy and leadership.
Earlier, Manoj served as a Leadership Group Member of Ashoka Innovators for the Public.

Scot Jones

Senior Programme Manager, LGBT+ at Community Business

Scot is Senior Programme Manager, LGBT+ based in Hong Kong. He is mainly responsible for the development, implementation and management of the LGBT+ Mentoring Programme. Prior to joining Community Business, Scot worked as Diversity & Inclusion Advisor and volunteered for two NGO’s in Hong Kong focused on social justice and gender equality.

Prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2015, Scot had over 20 years of HR Generalist experience in the US and Canada. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Psychology and is native in English. He uses He/Him/His/Himself pronouns.
