Organised by Common Purpose Hong Kong, students from different universities were invited to learn from leaders from in business, government and NGOs on how global leaders can help cities serve everyone better and how to make sure that smart cities provide opportunities to all, and lead the way in innovating ways of living and working together. ShanghaiPRIDE 2017 LGBTQ Open Day & Forum is the longest existing LGBTQ festival in China. The session looked at several dimensions of D&I and how unconscious bias may arise, including work life balance, gender diversity, LGBT and disability. It touched on the importance of developing Asian talent, breaking the ‘bamboo ceiling’ and multigenerational working. Our CEO Fern Ngai and Senior Manager, Strategic Programmes, Florence Chan also spoke about what leading companies are doing to develop their talent management and brand.

Joint statement calling for public consultation on legislation to protect LGBTI community

Community Business are honoured to be one of the supporting organisation for the joint statement issued by Equal Opportunity Commission and Gender Research Centre of CUHK to urge the government to ensure equal opportunities for LGBTI people in Hong Kong by introducing an anti- discrimination legislation covering sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status.

Facebook Live with British Consul General Caroline Wilson

Our CEO Fern Ngai acted as moderator for a special Facebook Live chat with British Consul General Caroline Wilson who will be leaving Hong Kong at the end of her 4-year term in Hong Kong.  Caroline responded to a variety of questions posted on Facebook, including questions about Hong Kong’s future, LGBT inclusion, and BNO passports, and she shared some of her reflections on life in Hong Kong.
