Description

A significant 2% of the Indian society identifies as Transgender. Regardless, recognition and acceptance in society is still a struggle for this community. It is only recently that gender diversity in organisations has gone beyond the binary definition and Trans inclusion has been spoken about more openly.

This India-focused research aims to be a guiding document that can provide recommendations to help organisations create an environment which is safe for this community.

The research focuses on the evolution of the Trans community in India and the workplace policies that surround them, while acknowledging the legal challenges they have been facing. It spotlights Trans people’s journey to workplace inclusion, while acknowledging the role that experts, DE&I leaders and NGOs have played.

The key takeaways will be:

  • An overview of the business case for the need for Trans talent in India-based organisations
  • Understanding the historical context
  • Best practices to accelerate Trans inclusion from a corporate perspective
  • A summary of recommendations by Community Business
