Community Business wishes to announce the departure of Peter Sargant, who stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Community Business for personal reasons.

Peter officially started his role in March 2020 and under his stewardship, Community Business saw the curation of the LGBT+ Mentoring Programme, the expansion of the LGBT+ Inclusion Index to Singapore and the establishment of a regional Awards Programme which touched more than 20 Asian markets in its first iteration.

Over the course of the last three years, Community Business has transformed how it conducts research, most recently with the launch of Race and Culture – The Conversation in Asia, but has also brought global initiatives such as This Can Happen and This is Me to Asia and formed new partnerships, with Catalyst and with other DE&I not-for-profit organisations to form GIDA, (the Global Inclusion & Diversity Alliance). Community Business has also recently launched its new brand.

We are proud to announce our new Chief Executive Officer, Janet Ledger. Since 2019, Janet has been the Chief Operating Officer for Community Business and has been instrumental in driving the overall strategic direction and sustainability of Community Business as a not-for-profit organisation. In addition to being responsible for all operational elements of the business, Janet has led the LGBT+ and Employee Wellbeing programmes, marketing and communications, business development and consulting functions.

β€œOn behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Peter for the contribution he has made to Community Business in the last three years and acknowledge what he has achieved in a difficult period for both Hong Kong and the region. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

We would like to welcome Janet into her new role. The Board are optimistic about the direction Community Business is moving in and look forward to the initiatives that the team have planned for 2023.”
