According to research conducted by Community Business, employees who suffer from mental health issues in Hong Kong face multiple hurdles such as stigma, lack of access to care, as well as workplace stress. In this podcast episode, we will be speaking with Dr. Yi Mien Koh, Managing Director of Health and Employee Benefits of AXA Hong Kong on the importance of employee wellbeing and a more caring and supportive workplace. Dr. Koh will also introduce the “Yes I can” programme, a 3-way collaboration among AXA Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Oxford VR that leverages virtual reality technology to address workplace mental health issues in Hong Kong.

Dr. Koh Yi Mien
Managing Director, Health and Employee Benefits, AXA Hong Kong
Dr Yi Mien Koh is Managing Director, Health and Employee Benefits of AXA Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of AXA Hong Kong which hosts the Health Centre of Excellence for Asia. Prior to joining AXA Hong Kong, Dr Koh was the Medical Director of AIA Group, which operates in 18 markets in the Asia Pacific region. Dr Koh’s career in healthcare spans every level of the health system across the UK, Australia and Asia. 

Dr Koh has served as CEO of a health authority and a teaching hospital in London. Previous roles include being a Chief Medical Officer in Australia, Medical Director and Director of Performance in London, and clinical advisor to health regulators in the UK. She has been Honorary Professor at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and is a Visiting Professor at James Cook University Australia.
