2020 D&I in India Best Practice Awards

Focus Area | Tackling Workplace Inequality

First introduced in 2018, Community Business’ D&I in India Best Practice Awards recognise the exceptional dedication and accomplishments of organisations in promoting diversity and inclusion (D&I) in India. The 2020 Award Nomination process runs from Monday 4 May 2020 to Friday 31 July 2020.

2020 Award Categories

In 2020 we continue to present the following eight Award Categories. Please note that initiative(s) should fall within the time period of January 2019 to April 2020. 

Employee Network Award
To recognise a specific employee network in India that has not only proactively promoted diversity and inclusion, but also acted as a business partner - aligning its activities to the priorities of the business.

 

Advancement of Women Award
To recognise a specific initiative that has had a positive and measurable impact on supporting and promoting the advancement of women in the workplace in India.

 

Disability Confidence Award
To recognise an organisation that has demonstrated a specific initiative to building disability confidence and promoting disability inclusion, within the workplace and beyond.
*Note, the initiative should not be a Corporate Social Responsibility.

 

LGBT+ Inclusion Award
To recognise an organisation that has adopted a specific initiative to creating an inclusive workplace for LGBT+ employees in India.

 

D&I Business Leader Award
To recognise a business leader/senior executive who has demonstrated personal passion and used their influence to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond in India.

 

D&I Champion of Change Award
To recognise an HR/D&I or non-HR/D&I corporate professional who has been a visible and committed champion of change in advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond in India.

D&I Pioneering Initiative Award
To recognise a specific initiative that demonstrates a bold, new, different or creative approach to promoting and/or advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace in India.

 

Promoting Social Inclusion Award
To recognise a specific corporate initiative that has had a positive and measurable impact in promoting the social inclusion of a diverse or under-represented group in the wider community* in India.
*Note, this is not a workplace initiative

Nomination & Assessment

Differentiated by a rigorous assessment and judging process, the Awards are open for nominations from Monday 4 May 2020 until Friday 31 July 2020. 

Award nominations are to be made online via our dedicated Awards Platform. Award Nominations will be reviewed by senior representatives of Community Business. 

To ensure credibility and objectivity, shortlisted candidates (Finalists) will be invited to present to a Judging Panel, comprising:

  • At least one External Judge; 

  • One Award Sponsor Judge (if applicable); and

  • Two Senior Representatives of Community Business.

Assessment Criteria

Consistent with previous years, Award nominations will be assessed based on the following assessment criteria:

Eligibility

The 2020 D&I in India Best Practice Awards are open to all companies with a commitment to advancing D&I in India including non-members of DIAN or DIAN India. Nominations should relate to activities taking place in India between January 2019 and April 2020. Please note we are looking to put the spotlight on a specific programme that is impacting change as a way to lead and inspire other companies to adopt best practice. If you have multiple initiatives, please use a separate nomination form for each one. If you include all initiatives in one form, your nomination may be rejected.

Sponsors

It is our standard practice that the winners of the 2019 Awards sponsor the same Award in 2020. This provides the opportunity to extend brand association for another year, particularly as the winner is not eligible to apply for the same award two years running. Sponsorship of an Award offers a number of high-profile benefits, including: 

  • Nominate Senior Executive to be on Judging Panel for relevant Award
  • Nominate Senior Executive to present Award at the Awards Ceremony
  • Positioning as Award Sponsor on marketing materials relating to promotion of awards and announcement of finalists and winners – including social media
  • Placement of logo on:
    • Awards page of Community Business website
    • Banner in relevant Breakout Session at the conference (Corporate Awards only)
    • In Post-Event Publication
